Dr. Thorogood is a clinically active cardiothoracic anesthesiologist with more than 20 years of hospital leadership experience. In addition to his role with Surgical Directions, he currently holds appointments as both the Medical Director of Perioperative Services and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at his current health care system Delaware. He is a certified trainer for both Epic and High Reliability Organizations (HRO).
He has founded and successfully manages a private anesthesia practice for the past 15 years, providing both hospital and ASC focused services. Having worked with Surgical Directions as a client prior to his current consultant role, Dr. Thorogood is adept at navigating the challenges that come with creating organizational change, working closely with our clients’ clinicians to create sustainable processes that are tailored to their specific needs.
